Welcome to Dr. Armand Rossi’s email newsletter:

Kid’s Unlimited

This newsletter was written on Sept 1st, but because of power issues involving hurricane Frances it has just been sent.  We are fine here in Florida.  Just some trees down, power outage, and some frazzled nerves.  Thanks for all your inquiries and concerns..

Kid’s Unlimited is a monthly, or semi-monthly, newsletter of various articles, funnies, tidbits and opinions relating to our children and chiropractic.  My opinions will always be in red and italicized.  Please feel free to share the appropriate articles with patients, friends, and other chiropractors.  I never buy any lists or put names on my email list unless the names were submitted to me directly.  If you wish to be removed from my list, just reply with the word “remove” in the subject line.

Thank you… Together we will make a difference.

Yours in Chiropractic, Armand Rossi

This is truly an editorial opinion on my part.

For those of you who have followed the changes at Life University over the last few years, here`s the latest.  As of last night, I have heard that Dr. Sid Williams and his family, and the Life University Board have signed agreements which have ended their differences.  From what I heard both sides are extremely happy and now the rebuilding of Life University can go on with no factions fighting with each other.  Life has one more hurdle to complete by the end of September.  They need to balance their budget.  They are having a good turnout for the fall class, so once they get through this barrier, the accreditation issue with SACS should be satisfied.  The CCE accreditation issue seems to be working out smoothly as well.  I urge all Life alumni and supporters to contact the college and see what they can do to help RIGHT NOW!  This is important.  DO NOT DELAY!

For those of you who are not necessarily Life supporters.  If you support principled chiropractic, this is a time you SHOULD support LIfe.  If Life University becomes a school of the past, then principled chiropractic takes a major hit and may take years to rebuild.  This fight is not just for Life University.  This is important to everyone who has a passion and commitment for chiropractic as a separate and distinct profession.  We are not alternative medical doctors, we are not chiropractic physicians, we are not doctors of chiropractic medicine.  In order to claim our rights as chiropractors, we need to stay strong and principled.  That is why Life University needs to not close.  That is why the university needs to thrive and help keep the profession strong.  This is why the other chiropractic colleges and organizations that support chiropracTIC need to step forward as well and show their support.

HEALTH & SCIENCE

Old-fashioned hand-washing still is an effective way to avoid spreading colds and flu.

By Susan J. Landers, AMNews staff. Aug. 23/30, 2004.

Washington -- A tissue designed to kill at least some cold and flu viruses is on its way to stores. Kimberly-Clark is poised to begin marketing its Kleenex Anti-Viral tissue by early October, which also marks the start of cold and flu season.

"Through research, we learned that it`s increasingly important to consumers to protect their families against common cold and flu viruses," said Robert P. van der Merwe, group president for Kimberly-Clark`s North Atlantic Family Care division.

While the tissues won`t help individuals who already have a cold, the plan is that they will help block transmission of viruses to others. Since there are about 1 billion colds a year in the United States, many of which result in visits to physicians` offices, any means to halt the viruses` relentless march will likely resonate with consumers.

But it is questionable just how effective the new tissues will be.

While the tissues are treated with an antiviral formula consisting of citric acid and sodium lauryl sulfate, which are also used in foods and toothpaste, a lot depends on the proper use and disposal of the tissue, according to researchers.

The company claims that 99.9% of cold and flu viruses -- specifically rhinoviruses type 1A and 2, influenza A and influenza B and respiratory syncytial virus -- that are trapped in the treated tissue will be killed within 15 minutes.

"The concept is good; the tissue could neutralize the virus," said Philip M. Tierno, PhD, director of clinical microbiology and diagnostic immunology at New York University Medical School. Dr. Tierno is also the author of The Secret Life of Germs.

"But let`s say you have a large amount of mucus coming out of your nose, it is virtually impossible for the amount of citric acid and sodium lauryl sulfate in a tissue to diffuse through that and effectively kill all the virus in a particular sample."

In addition, the tissue must be wadded up rather carefully with the mucus inside before it is tossed in the trash can. Stuffing it back into a pocket is liable to spread the virus.

Also, for successful germ control, no mucus can touch the cold sufferer`s hands. If it does, the virus can be easily transferred to a new victim either directly or indirectly. "So the concept is good, but the execution may allow for a limited effectiveness," said Dr. Tierno.

Heightened awareness

Kimberly-Clark test marketed a similar product, Avert, in the 1980s, said Owen Hendley, MD, a University of Virginia professor in pediatric infectious diseases, who worked on it. That version contained a slightly different virus-fighting formula.

Although it was test-marketed, it was never actually introduced widely.

But times have changed. "In fact, 90% of consumers we spoke with were interested in purchasing Kleenex Anti-Viral tissues and said they`d recommend the product to others," said van der Merwe.

Today`s consumers have been primed for the arrival of an antiviral tissue by its predecessors, the popular antibacterial soaps and lotions.

The public is also more infection-savvy today than it was 20 years ago, said Dr. Tierno. "With news of West Nile virus and SARS hitting the papers, people are more aware and want to do something about it," he said.

It`s debatable that the use of antimicrobial and antiviral products is the right thing to do. Concerns have been raised that the widespread use of antimicrobials may play a role in promoting antibiotic resistance, a growing public health threat. The AMA, for instance, has urged the Food and Drug Administration to regulate the use of antimicrobials in consumer products.

"Antibacterial hand soaps are damned foolishness, frankly," said Dr. Hendley. "You can get rid of rhinovirus within two seconds of rinsing your hands with water. It`s not hard to get rid of."

However, Dr. Tierno doesn`t share concerns about the products. "There hasn`t been one shred of evidence in the 30-plus years that these products have existed that they have fostered antibiotic resistance."

Drug Firms Ignore Federal Law, Not Reporting Studies

Researchers have found pharmaceutical companies are ignoring a federal law requiring them to post the results of thousands of studies on a governmental database (ClinicalTrials.gov). Although the database wasn`t intended to be comprehensive, a recent review by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found less than half of the total number of cancer drug therapy studies in 2002 were listed.

Nevertheless, more than 90 percent of the studies funded by the National Cancer Institute were found on the governmental database.

Even though FDA expects to complete their review of 2002 records by the end of the 2004, researchers see no evidence there is much more comprehensive information about treatments for other diseases or that compliance has improved over time. Even more frightening: It`s unclear how to make firms comply because federal law prescribes no penalties for a company`s failure to post results.

Physicians` groups are currently debating over whether a more comprehensive registry may ensure all results are made public. No doubt, they are surprised that drug manufacturers never published many studies in which the use of depressants for children failed.

Of more than 5,500 currently ongoing drug studies, only 13 percent were listed on the governmental database. AstraZeneca listed 20 studies while Merck had three.

Science Panel Urges Scrutiny Of Genetically Modified Crops

By SCOTT KILMAN
Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL
July 28, 2004; Page B8

A National Academy of Sciences panel called on federal regulators to look more carefully at whether genetically modified crops pose unintended health dangers for consumers.

While the 13-member panel concluded that the transgenic crops already on the market are safe to eat, and that there is nothing inherently hazardous about transplanting foreign genes into plants, it recommended that a lot more analysis be done on future inventions.

"Adverse health effects from genetic engineering have not been documented in the human population, but the technique is new and concerns about its safety remain," the panel said in a prepared statement.

The panel, led by Bettie Sue Masters, a chemistry professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, recommended that the federal government figure out how to track the health of consumers who eat some transgenic crops. The panel also urged the development of a huge database on the chemical composition of food plants. The panel didn`t estimate the costs of such moves.

Transgenic crops are plants that have received a gene from another species in order to do new things such as make an insecticide or produce the antidote to a weedkiller. Scientists are also beginning to insert foreign genes into plants with the information to make everything from drugs and industrial chemicals to vitamins. Some critics worry that tinkering with a plant`s genetic blueprint could somehow trigger it to make toxins and allergens, or block it from producing important nutrients.

The 235-page report, released yesterday, could heavily influence how the Food and Drug Administration, Agriculture Department and Environmental Protection Agency update their regulations to address this new wave of genetically modified crops. The academy, which is the largest private supplier of scientific advice to the federal government, has issued several reports since the 1980s that have formed the basis of the federal government`s biotechnology regulations.

Both sides of the biotechnology debate found parts of the report that they say advance their position. Antibiotechnology groups, such as the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, praised the panel for acknowledging that genetic engineering could trigger unintended consequences in food. Among other things, the scientific panel called on biotechnology companies to disclose more confidential information about the chemical composition of their creations.

At the same time, the Biotechnology Industry Organization, which represents companies such as Monsanto Co. and DuPont Co., applauded the panel for taking the position that transgenic crops shouldn`t be singled out for food safety evaluations. Science has long used many methods to modify crops in ways that could trigger unintended consequences, such as selective breeding and chemically-induced mutations. Indeed, the panel stopped short of recommending a mandatory review by the FDA of all transgenic crops before they are commercialized.

Agriculture Department officials said they will review the report. FDA officials couldn`t reached for comment late yesterday.

Vertebral Subluxations & Accelerated Aging

By Dr. Dale Friar & Keith Wassung

More Americans are living longer than ever before. The human life expectancy is increasing and barring unforeseen circumstances, we can expect to live to a ripe old age-that is a ripe old calendar age. Though are life expectancy has increased, the quality of our lives and our health has not. The United States continues to be one of the un-healthiest nations in the developed world.

Most of us do not want to live to be 90 if the last 30 years are filled with illness, disability and dependence of family and nursing homes. We want to be able to play golf, take long walks and enjoy our families. We want those extra years to be quality years. Longer lives do not mean much if they are not active lives. The quality of those years will largely be dictated by the choices we make in the preceding years, choices designed to stave off the aging process.

GENETICS & AGING

Assuming that a person`s entire life is "written" in the genes that they are born with has been a major mistake in recent health care philosophy. The more we learn about genetics, our biological inheritance, the more we realize that for the most part, our lifestyle decisions and behaviors have

far more impact on longevity and health that does heredity. A person`s genes define their basic biology, but health decisions and habits control the way genes will affect the body and health in general.

“Genes are unquestionably the fundamental units by which our bodies are constructed. However, pure genetic determination does not adequately explain the varied capabilities of our biology. A more accurate view of the role of the genome is to see the genes as providing the overall plan for the developmental pathways. The environment to which the individual is exposed will modify the actual pathway” 1PETER NATHANIELS, MD

Life in the Womb

“The major function of your genes is to transmit health and the inborn resolve to remember wellness. In the sickness paradigm, we are taught that disease-carrying genes determine our destiny. This is a false view. If we were truly destined to live by our genes, we would suffer from the thousands of diseases experienced by our ancestors for as long as we lived, which would not be very long at all. Disease-carrying genes are not our destiny, because they must answer to our inner compass-our healing force.” 2EDWARD A. TAUB  America`s Wellness Doctor"

“The environment in which you grow up is as important as your DNA in determining the person you become. Certain genes can lead to vulnerability, but not inevitability” 3

 A NEW PARADIGM OF AGING

It used to be thought that aging is the ticking away of some internal clock to a predetermined plan laid down in your genes. Dr. Leonard Hayflick, a noted research scientist, grew human cells in tissue cultures and showed that they could subdivide to create new cells only a limited number of times. This fibroblast replicative limit, as it was termed, appeared to show that the human cell has an inbuilt timer that eventually runs down [R] The evidence looked good and the study was repeated in several laboratories, but numerous scientists could not accept the aging “clock” theory. One problem with tissue culture experiments is that the life of the cells is dependent upon the adequacy of their nutrition. If there is even the slightest deficiency in the nutrient, medium used to grow the cells or in the air, water or temperature, or any one of a hundred variables, then the cells will accumulate damage. Every successive cell division is then progressively impaired until the cells no longer replicate and dies. These cell deaths have nothing to do with an internal clock, but are caused by environmental damage.

Chronological age is not biological age. How do we know this? There are two main lines of evidence.

First, though average levels of many physical functions show a progressive decline with age, there is a wide variability within aged groups. Some individuals show no decline at all. That these individuals exist indicates that chronological aging is not an inevitable cause of biological aging.  Often a person will blame a health condition, such as a bad shoulder, a bad knee, etc on their age. But if age were to blame, then it would stand to reason that both shoulders and both knees would be degenerated and not just one limb. These problems are due to cumulative stress and traumas, not to the passage of time.

The second line of evidence that aging is in fact degeneration caused by abnormal stress is the continuing discoveries that aging process previously considered natural do not occur at all in some human populations. Blood pressure for example, rises with age in the American population, and used to be considered an inevitable part of aging. Science knows now, however, that there are numerous populations, mostly isolated from Western society, in which the elderly have the same blood pressure as the young. Science has known that rising blood pressure is caused by complex factors in the environment of Western society. When members of populations migrate to Western society, their blood pressure begins to rise with a few years.  Osteoporosis is a major health concern for western women; however, women in other cultures around the world do not suffer from osteoporosis and similar degenerative disorders.

 TIME IS NOT THE ENEMY

The Human Body is an amazing collection of synergistic entities controlled by what can only be described as innate intelligence. The body is designed to be totally self-functioning and self-healing. We tend to think of healing when we suffer a cut on our arm or have broken a bone, but healing is a constant process of replacing old cells with new cells. For example, red blood cells are replaced at a rate of about 100 billion a day, with one trillion total red blood cells in constant circulation.

The body is constantly analyzing what is happening within the body and what is happening in the environment outside the body and makes adaptive changes as necessary.

Aging can best be defined as the gradual loss of the body`s ability to respond to the environment.

Aging, per se, is not just the effects of chronological time, but also the abnormal stress we place on our body, which gradually breaks it down. This is caused by a number of things by primarily include inactivity, chemical pollution and neurological and postural stress.

INACTIVITY & DISUSE

The human body is designed to move. The technological age of labor- saving devices and sedentary living often detracts from the biological necessity for movement.  Disuse is deadly; many degenerative diseases plaguing Americans have a portion of their roots in sedentary, inactive lifestyles. as much as 50 percent of the decline in physiological functioning--weak muscles, stiff joints, low energy levels--is actually due to disuse and not a normal consequence of age,"

"More people die of a sedentary lifestyle than from smoking". 4

C. Everett Koop, Former Surgeon General of the U.S.

Without movement you could not sustain life: blood cells that don`t move cannot transport oxygen, lungs that don`t move can`t breath, hearts that don`t move can`t pump blood, and spines that don`t move can`t create the motion required for proper joint nutrition, for the activities of daily living, or for the stimulation of the joint-brain pathways required for proper brain and body function.

Spinal movement stimulates brain function in the same way that a windmill generates electricity for a power plant. Half of all the nerve impulses that are sent between your brain and body in your spinal cord are for the delivery of movement stimulation to the brain. This enables the brain to coordinate activities such as concentration and learning, emotions, motor control, and organ function. Movement charges your brain`s battery and makes you able to think better, feel better, and function better, all of which are essential to health and longevity.

“Better than 90 percent of the energy output of the brain is used in relating to the physical body in its gravitational field. The more mechanically distorted a person is, the less energy available for thinking, metabolism and healing." 5

Dr. Roger Sperry, Nobel Laureate

Proprioception is the term used to describe the ability to sense the position, location, orientation and movement of the body and its parts, all which are important to movement and brain function.  Spinal proprioception plays a critical role in modulating protective muscular reflexes that prevent injury or facilitate healing. Sensation is the fundamental ingredient that mediates the proprioceptive mechanism. The joints of the body act as sensory chambers, which relay proprioceptive information between specific neural pathways and the central nervous system (CNS).  These neural pathways also transport the necessary sensorimotor information, which modulates muscle function.

The disruption of muscle and joint mechanoreceptors from physical trauma results in partial deafferentation of the joint and surrounding musculature, thus resulting in diminished proprioception and increased nociception. This predisposes the joints to further injury and accelerates the degenerative aging process.

“Mechanoreceptors in cervical facet joints provide major input regarding the position of the head in relation to the body. With aging, mild defects impair mechanoreceptors function. With decreased proprioception, body positioning in space is impeded and the patient becomes reliant on vision to know the location of a limb. To compensate for the loss of proprioception in the legs, the feet are kept wider apart than usual. Steps become irregular and uneven in length. As impairment increases, the patient becomes unable to compensate. With severe loss of proprioception, the patient is unable to get up from a chair or rise after a fall without assistance.” 6

Caranasos, MD, Gait Disorders in the Elderly

CHEMICAL POLLUTION

The United States is the most medicated nation in the world. The U.S. consumes 68% of all of the drugs in the world at the rate of 250,000 pills an hour, twenty-four hours a day.

Drugs are foreign to the body. Drugs work by altering the body’s natural biochemistry in order to suppress symptoms. Even with suppressed symptoms, the true cause of the problem may grow worse with the body’s natural healing mechanism compromised by the drugs.  In, fact by interfering with normal cell function, drugs cause cellular malfunction, which is the same as causing disease.

In addition to toxicity, drugs also cause severe nutritional deficiencies by depleting the body of essential nutrients. Antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and steroids all damage the human digestive system by impairing the ability of the body to digest food and absorb nutrients. Steroids main side effect is to increase many of the parameters of aging. This includes arthritis, degenerative changes of joints, etc. These are all well documented in scientific literature.

Research has show that NSAIDS, such as aspirin and ibuprofen interfere at the cellular level with the mechanism responsible for rebuilding and repairing cartilage. NSAIDS actually cause degradation of joint cartilage causing further degeneration to the joints. This inhibits normal joint movement, which inhibits normal stimulation to the brain

NEUROLOGICAL STRESS

The human body can respond and adapt to just about anything it encounters provided it is a state of homeostasis, which means that the body is able to send and receive nerve information.  The central nervous system is the master control system of the body and every single function reflects its activity. Nerve impulses travel from the brain, down the spinal cord and out through nerves to all parts of the body. Nerve Impulses then return to the brain through return pathways.

There are in excess of 100 billions neurons, or nerve cells in the human central nervous system and the number of possible interconnections between these cells is greater than the total number of electrons in the known universe.

Recent research has clearly shown that even activity that occurs at the cellular and molecular levels are controlled and coordinated by the central nervous system.

The central nervous system regulates the aging process and dependent upon healthy stress responses, determines longevity. Proper neurological signaling in the human body is the primary key to psychological, emotional, immune and hormonal health and longevity.

“The quality of healing is directly proportional to the functional capability of the central nervous system to send and receive nerve messages.” 7Janson Edwards, MD. PhD

There is a greater quantity of communication in the human body than all of the combined manufactured communication systems in the world and the coordination and precision of neurological and biological communication systems is un-paralleled.

The entire body is wired for cell signaling so that the body can repair, restore and coordinate physiological and psychological activities.  This enables our bodies to optimally adapt to physical and psychological stressors.

Cell signaling with growth factors is more fundamental to the body than is breathing.  Cell signaling begins before birth and ends just before death.  Loss of cell signaling underlies ineffective adaptation.  Inability to adapt is the pathway to death.  To stay healthy, as well as repair cell damage during aging, our cells continuously talk to each other to know how to behave in context with the surrounding environment. Cell signaling is fundamental to coping with stress, the underlying component of functional aging.

No one could survive without precise signaling in cells. The body functions properly only because the cells constantly communicate with each other.” 8Scientific American, June 2000

Aging was earlier defined as gradual loss of the body`s ability to respond or adapt to it`s environment. We can take that one-step further and state that aging is the breakdown of communication between the nervous, immune and hormonal systems of the body.

The Role of the Nervous System in Lifespan Determination

studies in diverse organisms have provided evidence that, indeed the brain may control lifespan. Signaling pathways involved in both central nervous system and peripheral stress responses and regulation of energy metabolism may play important roles in lifespan determination.  The brain also controls neuroendocrine systems strongly implicated in aging. The hypothalamic-pituitary system has a strong influence on lifespan. A consistent feature of environmental and genetic factors that increase longevity is that they increase cellular resistance to stress.  The brain coordinates the responses of the whole body to such stressors on both rapid and long-term time scales by modulating the activities of neuroendocrine pathways (involving the hypothalamus and pituitary gland) and the autonomic nervous system. The responses typically involve a behavioral response (fleeing the mugger or tiger), a vascular response (increased blood pressure and diversion of blood flow from the gut to muscles) and a metabolic response (increased mobilization of glucose). An increased ability of an organism to escape from a potentially lethal stressor will obviously increase its probability of having a long lifespan, and this is one way the brain can determine average lifespan. However, the brain may also control maximum lifespan by its ability to stimulate signaling pathways that increase the resistance of cells to stress. 9M.P. Mattson

 VERTERBAL SUBLUXATIONS

The vertebra of the spine protects the central nervous system.  Because the spinal column is moveable, it is also susceptible to various stresses and forces, which can cause them to lose their proper structural position. These minor misalignments of the spine, known as “vertebral subluxations” inhibit normal spinal movement, which causes nerve interference resulting in decreased nervous system, function, improper healing and accelerated aging

Subluxations also alter the optimal structure of the spine, which weakens it and increases degeneration. Vertebral subluxations are often referred to as the “Silent Killer” because they can be present for long periods without any evidence of pain or symptoms. This is similar to a cavity eating away at a tooth.

Any force that the human body cannot adapt to can cause a vertebral subluxation. Such examples include auto accidents, work related injuries, stress, sports, and repetitive movements even the birth process. Vertebral subluxations are devastating to a person’s health and longevity and are well documented by leading health authorities.

Subluxations are very real. We have documented it to the extent that no one can dispute its existence. Vertebral subluxations change the entire health of the body by causing structural dysfunction of the spine and nerve interference. The weight of a quarter on a spinal nerve will reduce nerve transmission by as much as 60.”  10Chang Ha Suh, PhD

 CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic is a health care system that is founded on the premise that a proper functioning nervous system is essential to overall health and function of the human body. Doctors of Chiropractic detect and correct vertebral subluxations by physically adjusting the spine. This restores the nervous system to an optimum level of function, which maximizes the body’s inherent healing potential.

Chiropractic adjustments restore normal nerve function; improve spinal biomechanics, range of motion, reflex arcs, and posture, all of which are essential to a properly functioning nervous system.

Doctors of Chiropractic are experts in spinal structure and body mechanics. Chiropractic adjustments   restore and maintain the structural integrity of the body by correcting spinal subluxations. Chiropractors emphasize the importance of posture to overall health, a concept that has been often overlooked in traditional methods of health care.

“The beginning of the disease process starts with postural distortions” 11Dr. Hans Seyle, Nobel LaureatePosture and Health

·         Posture and normal physiology are interrelated

·         Posture affects and moderates every physiological function from breathing to hormonal production

·         Abnormal posture is evident in patients with chronic and stress related illnesses.

·         Homeostasis and nervous system function are ultimately connected with posture

·         Despite the considerable evidence that posture   affects physiology and function, the significant influence of posture on health

is not addressed by most physicians. 12

THE CHIROPRACTIC LIFESTYLE

Health care is slowly changing from a symptom, disease based system to a function, and performance based system in which the structure of the human body is restored and maintained. Correction and maintenance of the structure of the spine is of paramount importance in the pursuit of optimal health and longevity.

In his book, "The Wellness Revolution” economist Paul Zane Pilzer predicts that wellness will become the next trillion-dollar industry. According to Pilzer, wellness is "not about a fad or trend, it`s about a new and infinite need of infusing itself into the way we eat, exercise, sleep, works, save, age, and almost every other aspect of our lives." 13

Wellness incorporates all the elements for preventive health care -- nutritious diet, aerobic conditioning, good posture, strength training, rest and periodic spinal adjustments. Wellness really involves all aspects of your life. Although millions of people have experienced relief from back and neck pain through chiropractic care, the focus and intent of chiropractic is far beyond the elimination of symptoms, but rather is in the correction of subluxations in order to ensure a properly functioning nervous system.

“Subluxation alone is a rational reason for Chiropractic care throughout a lifetime from birth” 14

Legal proceedings against the "Deutscher Bundestag", the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany: Because of the intentional continuation of acts of killing and manslaughter (§ 220a StGB Germany) by the German Parliament.

During the last six years proofs have been collected for the following actions that have taken place inside Germany:

The State intentionally is using non-valid tests to persuade healthy persons to take a deadly long-term medication. The persons, being healthy before being tested die during the long-term-medication. The German Parliament, since years intentionally is securing that this crime continues.

Course of Events on January 15th 2001 at the District Court (Landgericht) of Dortmund:

Judge Hackmann announced the statement of the "Bundesgesundheitsbehörde", the Federal German Health Authorities, which says that in connection with AIDS there has never been isolated a virus (Dr. Marcus, Robert-Koch-Institute (RKI) Berlin). The judge figured out that the German Bundestag had been backing the lie of the Federal Health Authorities (RKI, Dr. Marcus, 9.3.95) about a successful isolation of a virus in connection with AIDS in the course of a petition (Art. 17, Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany, Pet. 5-13-15-2002-010526).

The trial was based on actions of the defendant which were caused by the misleading statement made by the RKI (Dr. Marcus) on the 9th March 1995, that there were photographs of the isolated HI-virus inside the publications of Montagnier (1983) and Gallo (1984). The judge proved the untruthfulness of this statement using Dr. Marcus‘ statement itself. The court imposed a suspended sentence of 8 months of jail because of attempted coercion of the authorities to adhere and act according to law and order.

The document of the German Bundestag DS 12/8591 holds proof that the Bundestag had already known in 1994 that neither Montagnier (1983) nor Gallo (1984) had isolated any virus in connection with AIDS. Based on this the Bundestag safeguarded the persistent lie of the AIDS information campaign (RKI) from 9th March 1995 about the successful isolation of a virus in connection with AIDS. As a consequence of non-tolerating this lie and because of non-tolerating the deadly consequences of this lie, the trial took place on 15th January 2001.

It is impossible – as far as laboratory conditions are concerned – to develop a valid Virus-antibody-test, if the virus has not been isolated before. Every layman understands that an individual proof for an infection with a virus is impossible, if the existence of the virus has never been generally proven. This knowledge of the German health authorities, that the tests are not validated, can be proven via the authorities‘ documents themselves. The error concerning the test’s validity is spread and supported by the authorities – against better knowledge.

With two more petitions the Bundestag safeguarded the default of the responsible authorities, not to carry out the law (§63 AMG, Stufenplan II), to do studies and observations to protect persons taking the AIDS-Medicine, the chemotherapy AZT (Pet. 5-13-15-2002-058744 and Pet. 5-13-15-212-023567a).

The health authorities and the Bundestag know that there will be no test method to prove an HIV-Infection, as long as HIV has not been isolated. And there is no doubt that AZT – as well as the HIV-medications in general – are deadly themselves when used as long-term-medication.

In the course of the proceedings of the petitions the Bundestag created an apparent peace of law – by means of deliberately untruthful statements. President of the German Parliament Wolfgang Thierse regards untruthful behaviour of this kind (as shown by the Bundestag) as being justified by the Bundesverfassungsgericht (Federal Constitutional Court). A videotape documenting an interview (28th June 1995) shows that his predecessor in office, Prof. Rita Süssmuth did know, that there had never been any proofs for a virus in connection with AIDS and that there are no proofs for the claims of infectivitiy.

Still pending in the Bundestag is the petition Pet. 2-14-15-212-02608. It is lodging a complaint against the legal authorities, which stayed passive after getting the attention of the proofs for these act of killings. Enclosed with the complaint were so many proofs, which had made it necessary for the Bundestag to take actions right after perusal, to stop the continuation of these acts of killings by the state. Within the last six months every single member of the German Bundestag was informed six times via mail about these acts of killing by the state.

The intention of the German Bundestag to safeguard killings by the state after gaining insight into the facts must be regarded as proven, especially because of the fact that several petitions were rejected by means of untruthful statements. The German Bundestag and every individual member of the Bundestag intentionally safeguards acts of killings by the state by deliberately misleading the public. Healthy people are intentionally lead into a deadly medication via tests with invalid results - and then die.

The criminal law of the BRD and especially § 220a StGB (Genocide) protects citizens from act of killings organised by a state which is deliberately misleading the public. It also protects the citizens binding the legal authorities to take actions after perusal. The prosecuting attorneys attended the trial on 15th January 2001 at the Landgericht Dortmund and learned about the facts – in front of the public. Their passivity afterwards serves as a further proof for their further intention in this matter. (LG Dortmund, Ns 70 Js 878/99 14(XVII) K 11/00)

Subject: International Pun Contest Winners

Here are the 10 first place winners in the International Pun Contest.

1. Two vultures board an airplane, each carrying two dead raccoons. The stewardess looks at them and says, "I`m sorry, gentlemen, only one carrion per passenger."

2. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. One turns to the other and says "Dam!".

3. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly it sank, proving once again that you can`t have your kayak and heat it too.

4. Two hydrogen atoms meet. One says "I`ve lost my electron." The other says "Are you sure?" The first replies "Yes, I`m positive."

5. Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocain during a root canal? His goal: transcend dental medication.

6. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why?" they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said, "I can`t stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer."

7. A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in
Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in Spain ; they name him "Juan." Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, "They`re twins! If you`ve seen Juan, you`ve seen Ahmal."

8. Two friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, a rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair. He asked the good fathers to close down, but they would not. He went back and begged the friars to close. They ignored him. So the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town, to "persuade" them to close. Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he`d be back if they didn`t close up shop. Terrified, they did so, thereby proving that only Hugh can prevent florist friars.

9.  Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail, and, with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him...[Oh, man, how bad is this one?!!]...a super callused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

10.  And finally, there was the person who sent ten different puns to his friends, with the hope that at least one of the puns would make them laugh.

No pun in ten did!

The Price of Children

I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way.  It`s nice, really nice!!

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to
18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family.  Talk about sticker shock!  That doesn`t even touch college tuition.

But $160,140 isn`t so bad if you break it down. It translates into $8,896.66 a year, $741.38 a month, or $171.08 a week. That`s a mere $24.24 a day!   Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is don`t have children if you want to be "rich." Actually, it is just the opposite.

What do you get for your $160,140?

Naming rights!  First, middle, and last!

Glimpses of God every day.

Giggles.... under the covers every night.

More love than your heart can hold

Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.

Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.

A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate.

A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites, building sandcastles, and skipping down the sidewalk in the pouring rain.

Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140, you never have to grow up.

You get to finger-paint, carve pumpkins, play hide-and-seek, catch lightning bugs, and never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,  watching Saturday morning cartoons, going to Disney movies, and wishing on  stars.

You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets  and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in  clay for Mother`s Day, and cards with backward letters for Father`s Day.

For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero  just for retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof, taking the training wheels off a bike, removing a splinter, filling a wading pool, coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless.

You get a front row seat to history to witness the first step, first word,  first bra, first date, and first time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal.

You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you`re lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren.

You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice,  communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.

In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have the  power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a  broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them  without limits, so . . . one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost.

ENJOY YOUR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS!

> Dear Tech Support:

> Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that
the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of
space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into
all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications
such as Poker Night 10.3, Football 5.0, Hunting and Fishing 7.5, and Racing
3.6 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected.

the uninstall doesn`t work on Wife 1.0. Please help!

> This is a very common problem that men complain about.
>
> Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is
just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM
and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to
delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0. It is impossible to
uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed.
>
> You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not
allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child
Support. I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the
situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to
alleviate software augmentation.
>
> The best course of action is to enter the command C:APOLOGIZE because
ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system
will return to normal anyway.
>
> Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance.
Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0,
Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2.
>
> However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will
cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5. Once this happens, the
only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional
software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0.
>
> WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short
Skirt 3.3. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause
irreversible damage to the operating system.

RETIREMENT WITH A GRIN

Recently I was checking my 401k account and thinking about retirement, as everyone does when they hit 50. I saw an article about nursing and retirement homes and the expenses. Then it hit me. No nursing home for me!

Here is my plan: I`m checking into the Holiday Inn.

With the average cost for a nursing home reaching $188 per day, there is a better way when we get old and feeble. I have already checked on reservations at the Holiday Inn. For a combined long-term stay discount and
senior discount, it`s $49.23 per night. That leaves $138.77 a day for breakfast, lunch, dinner in any restaurant I want, or room service. It also will leave enough for laundry, gratuities, and special TV movies.  Plus, I`ll get a swimming pool, a workout room, a lounge, and washer and dryer. I`ll also get free toothpaste, razors, shampoo and soap. And I`ll be treated like a customer, not a patient.  Five dollars worth of tips a day will have the entire staff scrambling. There is a city bus stop out front, and seniors ride free. The handicap bus will also pick me up if I fake a decent limp. Ride the church bus free on Sundays. For a change of scenery, take the airport shuttle bus and eat at one of the nice restaurants there. While you`re at the airport, fly somewhere.  Meanwhile, the cash keeps building up.  It takes months to get into decent nursing homes. On the other hand, Holiday Inn will take your reservation today. And you are not stuck in one place forever -- you can move from Inn to Inn, or even from city to city.

Want to see
Hawaii ? They have a Holiday Inn there, too. TV broken? Light bulbs need changing? Need a mattress replaced? No problem. They fix everything and apologize for the inconvenience. The Inn has a night security person and daily room service. The maid checks if you are OK. If not, they will call the undertaker or an ambulance. If you fall and break a hip, Medicare will pay for the hip, and Holiday Inn will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life. And no worries about visits from family. They will always be glad to visit you, and probably check in for a mini-vacation. The grandkids can use the pool. What more can you ask for?

When I discussed my plan with friends, they came up with even more benefits that Holiday Inn provides retirees. Most standard rooms have coffee makers, reclining chairs, and satellite TV -- all you need to enjoy a cozy afternoon. After a movie and a good nap, you can check on your children (free local phone calls), then take a stroll to the lounge or restaurant where you meet new and exotic people every day. Many Holiday Inns even feature live entertainment on the weekends. Often they have special offers, too, like the Kids Eat Free program. You can invite your grandkids over after school to have a free dinner with you. Just tell them not to bring more than three friends.

Pick a Holiday Inn where they allow pets, and your best friend can keep you company as well. If you want to travel, but are a bit skittish about unfamiliar surroundings, you`ll always feel at home because wherever you go, the rooms all look the same. And if you`re getting a little absent-minded in your old days, you never have to worry about not finding your room -- your electronic key fits only one door and the helpful bellman or desk clerk is on duty 24/7.

Being natural skeptics, we called a Holiday Inn to check out the feasibility of my plan. I`m happy to report that they were positively giddy at the idea of us checking in for a year or more. They even offered to
negotiate the rate. We could have easily knocked them down to $40 a night!

"So, when I reach the golden age I`ll face it with a grin. Just forward all your emails to the Holiday Inn!"
